Normal Fully Assembled Shinai with Gin-Type Toko Tsuka (Keichiku) is your day to day training Shinai. If you are a beginner to Kendo or looking for basic Shinai for everyday training, this is the one for you. The Shinai comes fully assembled with Gin-Tsuka.

This Shinai is pre assembled. Hence the Shinai at any one size has only one Tsuka size option.

  • Size 39 Shinai (Male/Female) will be fitted with a size 39 Tsuka only
  • Size 38 Shinai (Male/Female) will be fitted with a size 38 Tsuka only
  • Size 37 Shinai (Male/Female) will be fitted with a size 37 Tsuka only

Plastic Tsuba and Tsuba Dome will not come with the Basic Assembly, the separate option will need to be selected.

Shinai Specification in detail

Tsuka Diameter is taken approximately 1 ~ 2 cm from the end of the Tsuka of the Bamboo Shinai. It is a specification estimation to the closest mm. Image below is an example how a 28mm Tsuka Diameter would be measured and checked at the end of production. Important to note that the Tsuka Diameter reference is not the diameter at the end of the Tsuka. Oval Handles does not have a designated specific Tsuka Diameter due to its oval shape. Tsukagawa can stretch when it is fitted onto the Shinai or stretched over time after multiple use. The Standard length is an approximation, and customer need to take this into consideration when purchasing. Although Sankei Japan will ensure the length is as close to the standard length. Customers should not expect exact length but allow some deviation.
