The Shinai is made to an extremely high standard. Please ask for availability before you place an order, else waiting time could be awhile until the bamboo material is available.
Jissen Gata class Shinai is known for a Large Haribushi (body of the shinai) and Normal Kensaki (tip). This shifts the center of balance of the Shinai towards the Tsuka (Handle), and give the Shinai a sense of weightlessness as the Shinai sits comfortably in your grip.
The Seibu Bessaku is a seasonable Shinai, which means the bamboo required to make this Shinai is not readily available throughout the year. The Shinai is made only from a selected thick bamboo. The craftsman then shave and adjust each slat of the Shinai one by one until his perfection and unity is achieved. The Shinai is so well balance that once in your Chudan no Kamae it is as the Shinai itself is weightless.
