Koto class Shinai is known for its straight body, it has a thin Haribushi (body of the shinai) where is nearly just as thick as the Kensaki (tip), so the thickness of the Shinai seems to be uniform throughout the whole body. This gives the Shinai a very straight shape, and sometimes known as the "Straight Shinai".
